Welcome Message from Executive Director

Welcome to Victoria Educational Organisation (VEO)! It is my honour and privilege to introduce you to our school.

Over the last five decades, Victoria Educational Organisation has adopted the best practices of a variety of philosophies and pedagogies to enhance our students’ early childhood education. All our kindergarten campuses are authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) World Schools, encouraging our students to becoming knowledgeable, principled, and open-minded thinkers through their own inquiry process. We have been honoured to have the opportunity to work with world-class researchers from Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) to enhance STEAM at VEO through a pilot study exploring the Agency by Design framework for early childhood maker-centered learning. Meeting the challenges of the 21st century, maker-centered learning has become an important fixture of global education aimed at encouraging, nurturing, and inspiring young peoples’ creativity and empathy. Through maker-centered learning, children develop important skills such as creativity, observation, problem solving, and collaboration, which are important for their future academic and personal development.

As a leading kindergarten in Hong Kong, Victoria Educational Organisation has built a stellar reputation for providing a world-class education to young children in Hong Kong. VEO has adopted the Columbia University Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, a language-rich framework that has allowed our children to develop strong literacy skills from early childhood. Our one-teacher-one-language policy provides our students the opportunity to develop bilingual and trilingual skills, academic excellence, and positive cross-cultural and personal competencies.

We care passionately about all our students, and their needs are our highest priority. VEO is built on a strong sense of community and family, and on the premise that education is the shared responsibility of school and home. We strongly believe in the importance of our professional educators, administrators, and parents collaborating and communicating openly and frequently.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the principals of VEO’s eight campuses. All of our principals are experienced professional educators, and some have worked for VEO for over 30 years. They are a testament to the astounding success of our students in school and, later, in life. I thank them for their dedication and guidance, which have allowed VEO to blossom over the years.

I am very excited to partner with the faculty, students, and families of VEO to make a positive impact on education in Hong Kong and to empower younger generations to believe in themselves and create a better world for tomorrow.

Yours,
