In early November, Victoria (Belchers) Kindergarten hosted a Chinese Literacy Ladder lecture aimed at deepening parents’ understanding of our Chinese curriculum. This engaging session provided insights into the diverse range of language activities available to students.
Parents discovered how these interactive experiences help children expand their oral vocabulary, develop an awareness of morphemes, and enhance their phonetic skills. The workshop highlighted the importance of hands-on learning, allowing young learners to explore the intricate connections between the shapes, sounds, and meanings of Chinese characters.
This event was a valuable opportunity for parents to strengthen their partnership with the school in nurturing their children’s literacy skills, ensuring a solid foundation for effective Chinese language learning.
