Language and Literacy Programme
VEO adopts a cutting-edge approach to language and literacy education by supporting young students in becoming attentive listeners, confident speakers, avid and skilled readers, and creative writers. We aim to support students in becoming fluent in both English and Chinese and skilled in reading and writing in the two languages and facilitating a smooth transition to primary school.

Empowering Students
VEO students are encouraged to become good listeners; fluent speakers; confident readers and effective writers. Young readers apply their new skills to reading stories that speak to them, to enjoy full agency over their reading.

Sharing and Communication
Language and literacy experiences are linked with life experience. Teachers and children inquire into how people communicate using spoken and written languages in life situations. Students are encouraged to be comprehending and to develop their communication skills by sharing what they learnt from reading with teachers and peers in class.
