Students of all ages construct their own meaning through purposeful learning and engage in a wide range of activities that focus on developing skills, attitudes and cognitive abilities. One very important way to develop a child’s creativity and understanding is to allow them to play independently and also with peers. When engaged in this type of play, children’s brains develop and their reasoning and creative thinking are put to use. During the sessions, time is allowed for free play with teachers monitoring and observing the children’s development.
Our team of dedicated teachers plan and implement a series of play-based learning engagements that equip children with life-relevant knowledge, values and skills that prepare them for future inquiry-based learning and for the transition into primary education. To encourage children’s agency (i.e., the ability to make choices for oneself), our classrooms feature a comprehensive range of teaching aids and facilities that enable children to learn by doing and making.
