ABOUT SECONDARY:

Following the establishment of the Victoria Shanghai Academy (Primary Section) on temporary premises located in Wan Chai in September 2004, the Secondary Section opened in September 2005 with 4 Secondary One classes of 28 students each on the same premises. The Secondary Section welcomes students from VSA Primary as well as other schools in Hong Kong. The total maximum enrolment in the Secondary school in school year 2007/08 is 420 students.

In school year 2008/09, the class structure in Secondary will be as follows:

• S1 - 5 classes
• S2 - 5 classes
• S3 - 4 classes
• S4 - 4 classes
• D1 - 1 class
• D2 - 1 class

VSA aims to be a through-train IB school. Following the 6-year Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children from 6 to 12, the Secondary offers a 4-year Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students from 12 to 16 and a 2-year Diploma Programme (DP) for students aged 16 to 18 to prepare them for tertiary studies in Hong Kong or overseas.

VSA Secondary was already authorized as an IBMYP & IBDP school.

Victoria Shanghai Academy (Hong Kong) (VSA) started to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme from September 2007. The school is the first IB World School in Hong Kong authorized to provide a “through-train” IB education.
